James Carrano and Sandra Kruse live and work in the Madison, Wisconsin area. They began collaborating on The Garden in 2007. Both studied at the UW-Madison, with Kruse obtaining a BA in English and Carrano obtaining a BS in Music Education and an MM in Choral Conducting. They are both happily married but not to each other.
